Caregiver Roles: Per Diem, Weekday, Weekend, and Overnight

Gateway House of Peace is a peaceful, two‑bed end‑of‑life residential home providing comfort care to residents under Hospice medical oversight. We are supportive, family‑oriented, and deeply committed to compassionate end‑of‑life care. We are seeking dependable caregivers to join our team on a per diem or part‑time basis.

Position Overview

Caregivers provide comfort care, emotional support, and practical assistance to residents in their final days of life. This role is ideal for retired or active RNs, LPNs, CNAs, EMTs, medical professionals, or individuals with personal experience caring for the sick.

Flexible shifts available: 4–12 hour shifts; up to 24 hours/week for part‑time.

Responsibilities

  • Medication administration following the Hospice treatment plan

  • Personal care including showering or bed bathing (no hoyers, no heavy lifting)

  • Resident support including comfort measures and emotional presence for residents and families

  • Record keeping: ADLs, MAR, and resident communication logs

  • Mobility assistance for residents up to 150 lbs (may require 1–2 person assist)

  • Light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation as needed

Qualifications

  • Hospice or end‑of‑life care experience preferred, not required

  • Ability to work independently or alongside volunteers and students

  • Strong personal integrity, reliability, compassion, and listening skills

  • Physically and emotionally able to support residents during end‑of‑life care

  • Comfortable providing care in a clean, home‑like environment

Compensation

$15.50–$17.75 per hour Part‑time and per diem positions available.

Current Open Shifts

  • Saturday & Sunday: 7–11am, 11am–3pm, 3–7pm

  • Monday: 7am–3pm

  • Wednesday & Thursday: 3–7pm

  • Friday: 7–11pm (alternating)

Additional shifts available periodically for vacation or coverage needs.
