Overnight Hospice Patient Care – 11 PM–7 AM (Part-Time)

Position Overview

A meaningful opportunity for retired or active RN, LPN, CNA, or individuals with equivalent hands-on caregiving experience—including Patient Care Technicians with medication-pass experience and EMTs. This role provides overnight support to residents in a peaceful, home-like hospice setting.

Shift: 11 PM–7 AM Status: Part-time, various shifts available Rate: $16.75–$17.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide minimal medical care in a clean, comfortable home environment.

  • Administer medications according to the hospice treatment plan.

  • Assist residents with personal care, including showering or bed bathing (no hoyers, no heavy lifting).

  • Offer emotional support to residents and families during end-of-life care.

  • Work independently or alongside volunteer staff or students.

  • Document ADLs, MAR, and resident communications accurately.

  • Attend to all resident physical needs with compassion and attentiveness.

  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation as needed.

  • Maintain integrity, dependability, and strong listening skills throughout all interactions.

Qualifications

  • Strong management, supervisory, and communication abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including POS systems and MS Office.

  • Marketing and social media familiarity is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently with consistent follow-through.

  • Skilled in problem-solving and improving workflow efficiency.

  • Respectful, caring, and supportive toward co-workers.

  • Proven ability to set goals and motivate others to achieve them.

  • Commitment to fostering teamwork and continuity between Gateway House Thrift Shop and the community.

Experience & Education

  • Medical specialty experience in Home Health preferred.

  • Understanding of Gateway House of Peace’s mission is a plus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience preferred.

  • Overnight shift availability required.
