What is Gateway House? A home modeled after other
community homes for the terminally ill. Gateway House of
Peace will be a two bed home like setting for those in need
of our service. Staff and volunteers will provide personal
care and extended family emotional support.
Who is eligible? Anyone under hospice care is eligible for
residence at Gateway House of Peace. Referrals will come
from hospice, health care agencies, hospitals, physicians,
social workers, family and friends.
What will this cost the residents? Services are free of
charge. Gateway House will collaborate with hospice to
provide a medical care plan for our residents.
How is the home staffed? The home will be staffed 24
hours a day by dedicated community volunteers and paid
staff.
Is this home needed? Hospice is not able to provide 24/7
skilled nursing for their patients at home. As a result, many
low to middle income people of all ages who can not afford
to pay for 24/7 home care remain unsafe at home with little
to no family to help.
Where is the house located? We are in search of land or
a house to be donated in the South Corinth / Greenfield
Center area.
How are we funded? Our home relies on community support, donations, grants, fundraising, memorials and bequests.
Gateway House will not receive any financial funding from the government or insurance reimbursements. We rely solely on donations, memorials, fundraising, grant writing, bequests and gifts from the community.
