 Gateway
House of Peace is a Not-for-Profit organization that is
committed to nurturing hope and healing when lives are
touched by the transition that family illness and care
giving can bring.
Many terminally ill people and their loved ones
discover that staying at home through the course of an
illness is neither appropriate nor possible. For these
people, the early weeks or months may go well, but as
illness progresses, home- based care becomes more
difficult. Some suffer great pain or have symptoms that
become too complex for the family to manage
successfully, even with help from visiting hospice team
members.
Some families may be exhausted and on the verge
of illness from the emotional arid physical toll of
providing care. These people and their loved ones need a
place that will provide loving, compassionate
end-of-life care.
The Gateway House of Peace will provide people
who are at the end of their life and their families with
vitally needed support and care in a safe and loving
environment. Individuals under the medical care of
hospice will receive free care, 24/7, by Gateway House
of Peace volunteers and staff.
The Gateway House of Peace will span the
continuum of care, offering a place where a person can
stay for a few days or a few weeks. It will be truly
inclusive; a home-like setting where families can come
and, know a loved one is receiving care in a warm,
comfortable setting; freeing them to be exactly what
they were meant to be…family and friend.
