Of Columbus Hosted "A Perfect Wedding" as a Dinner
Theater Fundraiser On May 21st & May 22nd To Benefit
Gateway House Of Peace, A Local Charitable Hospice
Organization.
Greenfield Center, NY, May 23rd,
2010 – Gateway House of Peace, Inc. a Saratoga
County Charitable Hospice is pleased to report on
yet another successful fundraiser and community
awareness event, co-sponsored by The Adirondack
Theatrical Players and the Saratoga Knights of
Columbus. The event took place this past weekend,
under the direction of Fran Williams from The
Adirondack Theatrical Players and David Marsh from
the Knights of Columbus. The event raised more than
$3,500 in proceeds which will benefit Gateway House
of Peace and their vision to build a home to serve
patients under the care of hospice.
On both evenings, local supporters, community
leaders, and friends of Gateway House of Peace came
together to show their support for Gateway’s vision.
Each evening began with a full buffet sponsored by
the Knights of Columbus, at their facility on the
corner of Pine Street and Route 29 in Saratoga
Springs, NY. The Adirondack Theatrical Players did
an amazing job at keeping the room filled with
laughter for the entire evening.
Gateway’s major goals for this event were to
raise funds, build awareness, educate the community,
while providing a fun evening for our supporters.
Gateway achieved all of its goals over the course of
this past weekend. The theme for Saturday evening’s
presentation was "Hospice is About Living". In
opening the evening’s presentation, Paul Brisson, a
Board Member for Gateway House of Peace asked the
audience to answer a question, "Hospice is about…?"
Several supporters responded with various answers.
Mr. Brisson then elaborated on how in a word
"hospice is about living". Also in attendance on
Saturday evening was Ryan J. Trzaskowski, CEO of
Mountain Valley Hospice. Mr. Brisson asked if he
could share his experiences, personally and
professionally with the supporters in attendance.
Mr. Trzaskowski spoke about why hospice is so
important to the community, and the overwhelming
need for more homes such as Gateway is seeking to
build in our community.
In less than two days Gateway House of Peace
raised more than $3,500 in the form of ticket sales
and program sponsorship. Several community
organizations and businesses we instrumental in
sponsoring the event’s program, including: Mountain
Valley Hospice: Serving Communities in Northern
Saratoga County, The Greenfield Community & Business
Association, Walter Chandler Forestry Services,
Pulmonary Physicians of Saratoga, The Wesley
Community, and Unity Lodge No. 22 Free & Accepted
Masons.
